“When we understand what is limiting readiness, we can better support healing, growth, and change.”
Individuals, Children, & Families
Understanding Readiness. Guiding Meaningful Support.
Every child has a unique developmental story. Understanding that story is often the first step toward creating meaningful, lasting change.

The Map Forward Project provides comprehensive developmental assessments that help families and professionals better understand a child’s strengths, areas of vulnerability, and readiness for learning, regulation, relationships, and growth. Rather than focusing only on behaviors or symptoms, our assessments help identify the underlying developmental patterns and conditions that can guide more effective support.
Our assessment process is grounded in The Map Forward Readiness Framework™ and incorporates the Neurosequential Model (NMT) Metrics, including the comprehensive assessment commonly referred to as a “Brain Map.” Together with developmental history, interviews, records review, and other evidence-informed assessment tools, the NMT Metrics help us develop individualized recommendations that provide a practical roadmap for intervention and care.
Each assessment concludes with a collaborative review of findings and recommendations, ensuring that families and professionals leave with a shared understanding of the child’s developmental needs and practical next steps.

When a significant service gap emerged in Athens County Ohio, I reached out to The Map Forward Project. I trusted Tammy’s long-standing commitment to our community to help meet the growing need for recruiting therapeutic and permanent caregivers for vulnerable youth with complex behavioral needs. Using neuroscientific brainbased assessments and sequenced guidance, our partnership enabled us to recruit multiple therapeutic and adoptive families to permanently support traumatized children build healthier patterns of development and thrive across all areas of life.

The MAP Forward Project laid the foundation for strengthening MTSS at Meigs Primary by helping establish key systems and structures that supported continuous improvement. It fostered collaborative data conversations, clearer decision-making processes, and a stronger focus on Tier 1 instruction. While all components of MTSS were not yet fully implemented during the project, the work created a shared vision and practical framework that has continued to guide our school’s implementation. The systems and collaborative practices developed through The Map Forward Project remain an important part of how we support educators and improve outcomes for students.
